Pack 331 – April is Earth Month, and we have a couple of great activities planned to help our local environment. At the April Pack meeting, a guest is coming to teach us about bees and the role they play in the keeping our environment healthy. At the meeting we will be building some mason bee homes for the Edmonds Fish Hatchery. On April 27 (Saturday) we are headed down tot he hatchery to learn about local stream ecosystems and install the bee boxes. This is a great way for our Scouts to do something practical for our local community!

Every year we join Scouts around the World to enjoy the outdoors through the Jamboree on the Trail event! This year we will be visiting Carkeek Park in north Seattle. This is a family-friendly exploration through the park to the Lost Piper’s Orchard and learn about Seattle’s first candy maker! The walk will take about 90 minutes. All Scouts need to carry their 6 Essentials for the hike. Families and friends are welcome. We will meet at the upper parking lot by the playground.

Hello Pack 331 Families and Scouts!

Please join us with your bike and helmet for a pack Bike Derby at the Holy Rosary Parking lot (thank you to Den Leader Alan Jones for the location). We will have several stations set up to learn about bike care and safety as well as try out your riding skills! Riders of all abilities are welcome – training wheels are welcome! See you all there!

Please join us for the initial yearly planning meeting for our next scouting year! We are meeting at the Mountlake Terrace Library (23300 58th Ave, Mountlake Terrace, WA 98043) in the Small Meeting Room. As this is a change in timing from years past, we will have an additional in person planning get together in late August (I am thinking maybe a potluck BBQ at my house if people are interested?). This meeting is to get a general plan for our 24/25 scouting year in place including setting dates for our important yearly events. If you are unable to make the meeting, no worries as I will send around all notes and plans to all. Please see the below proposed dates for this next year and give me (Taura, taurabetts@gmail.com) any feedback we should consider. Hope to see as many there as possible.

Hello Pack 331!

Please join us for our end of the school year pack meeting and Den Graduation! We hold this meeting at the fire pit at Edmonds City Park every year as we come to the end of the scout yearly calendar and all of our scouts prepare to graduate and start working towards their next rank. We ask that all scouts bring their current neckerchief (washed and clean) and slide and be ready to bestow it on the next den and receive their new rank neckerchief and slides. We traditionally end this meeting with S’mores so don’t forget to bring roasting sticks if you have them (although we always have extras to share).

We still have plenty of fun scout meetings and events over the summer (keep an eye on your email) but most dens will not have den meetings again until the fall when school starts back up in September. We look forward to celebrating with all of you.
